Callback-Server

Problem:

A modem shall use a remote callback service.

Solution:

There are two known solutions:
  1. not always applicable: use a modem which supports callback
  2. mgetty by Gert Doering which is included with S.u.S.E. Linux supports callback operation
If the mgetty sources (package mgetty_s, series "zq") are installed, the second solution can be found in /usr/src/packages/mgetty-*/callback. It is described in the included README.

You need to compile and install callback yourself. You then include the execution of callback according to the README in login.config.
