Graphikkarte ATI Xpert@Work

Applies to

SuSE Linux: Versions up to (including) 5.1

Symptom:

You purchased an ATI Xpert@Work or Xpert@Play graphics device which is not automatically recognized by the XFree86-3.3.1 X server. (series "x", packages "xmach64")

Cause:

These cards have been released at the same time as XFree86-3.3.1 and cannot be setup automatically.

Solution:

There is a workaround available. Please add the following lines into your Section "Device" in /etc/XF86Config: 
        ChipId	0x4754
        ChipRev	0x02
That's it.

The second solution may be a X server from our XSuSE series, XSuSE_Mach64.

You may download this X server which recognises the above mentioned card automatically from ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse_update/special/xsusem64.tgz.

This X server will also be included in S.u.S.E. Linux > 5.1.
