ps displays a warning

Applies to

SuSE Linux: Versions since 5.2

Symptom:

You start a shell script that ran without problems for quite some time or you execute e.g. 
  ps -auxw
in a shell. After the installation of S.u.S.E. Linux 5.2 you get the message 
  warning: `-' deprecated; use `ps auxw', not `ps -auxw'

Cause:

The newest version of ps doesn't accept options with a hyphen anymore.

Solution:

Remove the hyphen in front of the options in the call to ps in the script. This message is just a warning, so you can even simply ignore it !
