X messages window and the file ~/.X.err show errors

Applicable to
S.u.S.E. version: from 4.2 on
XFree86 version: from 3.1.2E on

Symptom:

In the file ~/.X.err or on the console in which you have started X, the following error message appears at the end - several times too -: 
X Error of failed request:  BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter)
It appears when you have done in the windowmanager fvwm2 either a "Restart Fvwm2" or "Exit Fvwm"

Cause:

The windowmanager modul FvwmButtons - it is the edge button above left in the S.u.S.E. standard configuration - produces this error, when it is exited by the window manager.

Solution:

The remedy affects the fvwm programming. You can ignore this error message safely. It cannot cause any damage to your system.
