/etc/ppp/pap_secrets and /etc/ppp/chap_secrets
(according to the protocol).
Example for a /etc/ppp/pap_secrets file:
#User Server Secret adresses emil * Passwort
-chap +papThe usernames/passwords are read accordingly from
/etc/ppp/pap-secrets. You can also read the passwords from
/etc/passwd (or /etc/shadow). Simply enter
an additional line login into the options :
-chap +pap loginIt is not necessary in this case that
/etc/ppp/pap-secrets exists at all.
If it does exist it should contain at least the following line :
* * ""The access can then be denied by entering the user with an invalid password :
Username * -
The Microsoft Network (MSN) protocol is supported
from version ppp-2.2.0f on.
