Solution:

For making use of the Symbios Logic 8751 SP you need to install the "NCR53C8XX" driver. This driver is included in "scsi04" (CD1, directory /disks) on »S.u.S.E. Linux« 5.1. How to create a boot disk is referenced in our handbook ("Rescue system") or in the SDB article kfr_26.html.
