SuSE Linux: Version 5.3
You try to access the preconfigured "schemes" (network schemes)
directly via LILO, like it is described in /usr/doc/packages/pcmcia/PCMCIA-HOWTO.
However the switching doesn't work the way you want it.
The environment variable "SCHEME" isn't evaluated by the "pcmcia"
startscript.
Enter the following line into /sbin/init.d/pcmcia :
if [ "$SCHEME" ] ; then umask 022 ; echo $SCHEME > $SC ; fiHere's the patch :
*** /sbin/init.d/pcmcia.orig
--- /sbin/init.d/pcmcia
***************
*** 34,39 ****
--- 34,40 ----
SC=/var/run/pcmcia-scheme
if [ -L $SC -o ! -O $SC ] ; then rm -f $SC ; fi
if [ ! -f $SC ] ; then umask 022 ; echo > $SC ; fi
+ if [ "$SCHEME" ] ; then umask 022 ; echo $SCHEME > $SC ; fi
if [ -d $PC ] ; then
/sbin/insmod $PC/pcmcia_core.o $PCMCIA_CORE_OPTS
/sbin/insmod $PC/$PCMCIA.o $PCMCIA_PCIC_OPTS
