Setting Runlevel in `/etc/inittab`

Symptom:

After changing the runlevel in /etc/inittab by hand, YaST or SuSEconifg reset the runlevel variable to its original value.

Cause:

The variable "CHECK_INITTAB" in the /etc/rc.config file is set to "yes".

Solution:

Set the "CHECK_INITTAB" to "no", or
Configure the Login via the following YaST configuration menu:
```
"System Administration"
```
Then go to
```
"Login Configuration"
```
and hit enter. Configure the graphical login.
