GIMP Does not Print

Applies to

SuSE Linux: Version 5.3

Symptom:

GIMP does not print.

Cause:

The "print"-plugin has not been correctly configured. ;-(

Solution:

Download the updated "print"-plugin from the SuSE ftp server; you just need the "ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse_update/suse53/gra1/gimp-pr.tgz" file. Then unpack it in the root directory using  "tar" 
cd /
tar xvzf .../gimp-pr.tgz
You have to replace the three points ("...") by the path to the downloaded package !

If you prefer to get the new Gimp (ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse_update/suse53/gra1/gimp.rpm), you can install it using YaST or RPM; refer to the SDB article pakete_manuell.html.
