wu.ftpd is started by inetd without problems and
the anonymous login
works. Afterwards ls does not display clearly at all
and a cd keeps
without effect, even though ftpd accepts inmediately the
order without complaining.
~ftp is done for anonymous ftp. When programmes
like ls are called there, they need both the C library in
~ftp/lib and the loader from Linux.
Both things are in the packet ftpdir.
ftpdir. The packet is not contained
in some Linux Aktuell! CDs. You may get it via ftp from
ftp.gwdg.de:
The version for the 4.3 is e.g. in
ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/cdroms/suse/4.3/suse/ap1/ftpdir.tgz
In the next Aktuell! it will be, of course, in again.
lcd without parameter does not work in ftp.
Workaround: use lcd ~
, and then everything will work. Bug fix is in the todo liste.
This is a ftp's bug and not a ftpd's.
