Adabas D and passwords

Adabas D: Version 6.1

/etc/passwd

Adabas D behaves hypercritical concerning entries in the /etc/passwd file. The widely used (but undocumented) feature which allows adding of comment signs (e.g. in order to block an account for short time) isn't accepted by Adabas D. Adabas D needs a clean password file.

Passwords

The passwords for the users stored in the catalogue of the database also underlie certain restrictions. In particular these passwords should not contain any special characters.
