How do I get sound working with Netscape?
To get sound working with Netscape, you have to setup a mime type
with your application. For Netscape 3, select options and setup
the type. For Communictor:
Edit->Preferences->Navigator->Applications
select a file type or use New
edit the suffixes
select application and type in the application
For avi movies:
Description: Microsoft Video
MIME Type: video/x-msvideo
Suffixes: avi
[]Application: xanim [plus]Ae [plus]f %s
For RealAudi sound files:
Description: RealAudio
MIME Type: audio/x-pn-realaudio
Suffixes: rm,ra,ram
[]Application: rvplayer %s
Note, there are also some plugins for Netscape that work
most of the time (e.g., to play .WAV files).
