| Summary |
*---------*

The BookRead format and method are used in several doors/programs, so
from herein, all references to any given book will simply be stated as
BOOK whereby you will need to replace the word BOOK with the appropriate
name.

BookRead is a project we (the authors) started to put books on-line.
Any one can put a text file up. What makes BookRead so unique is that
it remembers where the user was when thay log back on (book marks) and
the user can go forward OR backward in the book.

| Installation |
*--------------*

Installation of Project BookRead under Linux is both easy and simple.

If you do not have access as root:

    1. Just unpack the book files (IE: aesop11.tgz) in to a directory.
    2. Put the bookview program in your main directory or in the directory
        you created in (1).
    3. Type bookview and the name of the book, ie:
            bookview aesop11
    4. Thats it!

If you have root access and want the books to be global:

    1. Become root.
    2. make a directory under /usr/local to hold the books, ie:
            mkdir /usr/local/BookRead
    3. unpack the books in the directory you created in (2).
    4. put the bookview program in /usr/local/bin
    5. modify you /etc/profile by adding the below line:
            export BOOKREAD=/usr/local/BookRead
    6. Make sure all files in the directory created in (2) have read
        permission for all users.
    7. Thats it!

Book mark files are kept in the user's home directory.
