1. About spider

    1.1. Which systems are supported?

    Spider supports:
	Linux

Spider has extended sysinfo support for:
	HP-UX
	Linux

    Spider light supports:
	HP-UX
	Linux

    Spider light safe supports:
	HP-UX
	Linux
	SunOS
	Ultrix

    1.2. What is a sysinfo/buginfo file?

It's a file with your system's information. It can have one of the
following formats: tar, tar and gziped or tar and compressed. So you
can also without spider get some information about your system and you
can see what's in the file, when you give it to someone else.

2. Using Spider

    2.1. Spider doesn't recognize my Sysinfo/Buginfo file!

To use Sysinfos/Buginfos that are created with a Spider version below
2.4.0 with Spider 2.4.1 or better, you need to add "version=0" to your
spider.cfg. This is because Spider 2.4.x has a new Sysinfo Check Routine
that only accepts a Sysinfo that's created by a Spider program.

    2.2. Limitations

These limitations are only for the spider binary, not for Spider System
Manager, Spider Sysinfo Creator or Spider Buginfo Creator:

	- maximal 50 logins
	- maximal 400 lines output for each modul

If you need more, mail me and I will implement more.

4. System Security

4.1. How can I avoid shell script manipulation?

Instead using /usr/bin/spidersys to create sysinfos, link it to
    $SPIDERPATH/scripts/sysinfo/spidersys.com and check regularly
Spider's security with "spider -v". Nobody should have write access
    to any spider file.
