                          README file for mmon
                    Kovacs Andrei <andik@ns.upet.ro>

Mmon is a program which allows you to monitor several computer
parameters over the parallel port, with the help of a few leds.

The compilation is very easy. Just do a "make".

To get help with the configuration parameters, run mmon with only
one argument, don't matter which one. Or better, run it with "-h" or read
mmon.8 ("cat mmon.8 | gtbl | groff -Tascii -mandoc | less"). The delay
parameter (-d) can be set to 1 too because for now the program doesn't
load the system too much. Here is a line from `top` (on a Am5x86-P75-S
with 32 megs of RAM).

PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT LIB %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND

 1514 root 1 0 440 440 368 S 0 0.0 1.4 0:00 mmon

This program is written under the GPL license so you're allowed
to do whatever you want with the source code as long as you respect the
licence. Please if you make changes to "mmon", e-mail me the changes so
that I can keep track of the changes it supports and improve it. If you
have any sugestions... e-mail me :)

And BTW, until I change this, please e-mail me if you find this
program useful. I'd like to know how many peoples are using it.
