BUGS

Prefetching is not supported at the moment. :( Forget all the other
stuff from this section.

Currently, their are some misfeatures involved with this version.

1. It does not make a spool directory for your news server!
This has to be set up manually. For each news server simply type
   mkdir -p SPOOLDIR/NEWSHOST:SERVICE
2. It does not make a spool directory for outgoing articles. This
is especially important, if you want to read news offline. For
   each news server simply type
   mkdir -p SPOOLDIR/NEWSHOST:SERVICE/.outgoing
3. It does not create a status file in the outgoing spool directory.
This file records the number of the last article that has been
posted from/stored in the spool directory. For each news server
   simply type
   echo 0 0 >SPOOLDIR/NEWSHOST:SERVICE/.outgoing/status
4. The XHEADER command is still not supported. This affects those
   people reading news using xrn.

COMMENTS

When starting NewsCache the first time, you might want to install it
somewhere with a better or cheaper ineternet connectivity. And take
that spooldirectory home on a ZIP-disk (or something like that) and
unpack it in the spool-directory at home since the articles of all
the newsgroups you want read will be retrieven. This may be a time
and cost consuming task.

Please, send comments, bug-reports or bug-fixes to
gschwind@complang.tuwien.ac.at.
