1. What are the major changes between release 3 and 4 ?

SIGUSR1 and kilst have disappeared from the distribution, Tulp now
uses a better queuing system, with a setuid-listserv "queue" binary.
The major difference users will see is response time it won't be
immediate anymore and a one to two minutes delay can be observed.

Handling of moderated lists has changed. Like with Usenet News, the
moderator (Editor) of a list just needs to add a header line

	Approved: editor-email-address

and resubmit the message to the list. The sender address and other fields
will remain unchanged.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. Which releases of Tulp are supported ?

We are sorry, but pre-4 releases are not supported anymore. We welcome
bug reports but will not correct anything in pre-4 releases.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. Messages do not get delivered in the "queue" directory, why ?

The queue binary must be setuid-listserv, otherwise it won't have the
correct privileges and won't be able to queue incoming messages.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

4. Tulp is sucking all the CPU it can, how to correct this ?

With release 3, this generally results in a misconfiguration of the
local mailer in the deliver script. Also some buggy mailx commands
(particularly on AT&T) behave randomly.

If running release 4, then please report the problem.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

5. Do you have plans to add the notion of peer lists ?

No. If you need very extended features, then Tulp is not the package
you're seeking for.

6. About other MLM packages ?

Several good packages exist out there, check the "Mailing list
management software FAQ" posted regularly in news.answers and other
groups.
Available as file://ftp.univ-lyon1.fr/pub/faq/mail/list-admin/majordomo-faq.

Personnally, if you don't need load control (and can accept very important
bursts of messages to your system), I must say (as a subscriber to lists)
that Majordomo is a nice package.
