BRIEF INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
-------------------------------

Uncompress the archive that you downloaded, probably pulse-<version>.tar.gz.
This will create a directory by the name of pulse-<version> (e.g. pulse-1.0)
which will contain the source code for pulse. Change into that directory
by typing `cd pulse-<version>' without the quotes and pressing enter. Edit
the file named `Makefile' in that directory to reflect your compiler, etc.

Once you've done that, just type `make pulse' without the quotes. The
program is fairly elementary and should compile without woes on all
platforms.

Once pulse has been compiled, just type `make install' without the quotes
and press enter. pulse will now be installed in the directory you
specified for INSTALLLOCATION.

If you have any problems compiling/installing pulse, please do not
hesitate to contact me via email.
