Lab3Timer - a triple timer application

a laboratory triple timer app
##################################################
WHY	another alarm clock, reminder or whatever?

THE STORY
I work a lot in the lab where very often
	incubation times of immunological/chemical/
molecular biological reactions have to be
quite exact. I have one of these thingies
with 3 independend timers, that can be viewed
and run simultaneously. I need this daily
especially if I go to my office to do some
other work. Then I take this thingy with me.
My lab co-workers like that timer, too.
So, sometimes it is gone. I tried to use
xalarm, plan, reminders, at, XNotesPlus -
all quite usable. But one day I played at
home with xforms, and fdesign, and there was
what I needed to code that thingy by myself
(I'm not experienced with programming in C).

OK, I programmed it, and it works fine for me.

I'll release it under the GPL.

See the file COPYING in the distribution.

RELEASE 1
	05-Mar-1999
	by Sebastian Bunka <Sebastian.Bunka@vu-wien.ac.at>

VERSION 0.4

AVAILABILITY
the latest release should be available from

	http://i112pc09.vu-wien.ac.at/~bunka/software/Lab3Timer.html
	ftp://metalab.unc.edu/pub/Linux/science/lab/lab3timer-x.x.src.tar.gz

INSTALL
	1. Check the Makefile for location of your libs, and includes,
	2. Check my_config.h for use of the linux console ring
           and some other definitions
	3. invoke make, log in as root and then make install.

if something fails, send me an e-mail.

HINTS
You'll need the xforms library version >= 0.88 for compilation.
	see <http://bragg.phys.uwm.edu/xforms>.

TODO
For me it needs to many colors.
(But one can use the -shared cmd-line switch
or the Xresource setting, see man page).
Resizing or small/big switch works the same.

FEEDBACK
If you see something in the source code that is programmed
bad or stupid, I'd be glad for a better version.
AND don't flame me please ;-)) I'm not to old to learn.
