			       LICENSE

     BGI Library For Linux is Copyright (C) 1994-1995 G & Y Systems.

BGI Library for Linux exists in two forms, shareware (user-supported)
and commercial. This license applies to shareware version only.

Users are granted a limited license to use the shareware version of
BGI Library in their applications and software development on a single
     computer.

Users are also granted a limited license to distribute applications
built with shareware version of the library, as long as these
applications are distributed as freeware. Distribution of commercial
or income-generating applications (including shareware applications)
requires the purchase of the commercial version of the library.

It is assumed that if the user likes the product, he or she will
at least register it, or purchase the commercial version, so that
G & Y Systems can provide support and development for the product.

Registration of shareware version allows one to obtain one's own serial
number, source to the shareware version, as well as the ability to get
e-mail tech support and bug fixes.

Purchase of commercial version allows one to obtain the following:

	1. Commercial version of the library, which is different from
shareware and has more features (sources are included).
        2. Printed Manual.
	3. Tech Support, both voice and e-mail.
        4. Notifications of updates and bug fixes.
	5. Reasonable bargaining ability over the new features.
	6. Serial Number.

All users are granted a license to copy the shareware version
of BGI Library, as long as the following restrictions are met:

     1. BGI Library must be distributed in absolutely unmodified form,
including ALL program, documentation, and other files.

     2. No charge or payment may be levied or accepted for BGI Library, with
the exception of a reasonable and acceptable copying charge.

Distributors of User Supported and Public Domain software are granted
permission to freely distribute BGI Library, as long as they follow
     restrictions outlined above.

	    BGI Library Ordering/Registration Information

Registering shareware version of BGI Library gives you sources to the
shareware version, e-mail tech support and access to all bug fixes,
as well as your own serial number (user id).
You may also sleep better knowing that your favorite piece of
software is supported, and that you have sources to it (just in
     case).

BGI Library registration costs $10 US, and includes a 'registered'
copy of the shareware version (which is the same as the one you already
have) as well as sources to it, and your own serial number, all packaged
     on a floppy disk.

A commercial version is available for $ US 30.00. It includes a
printed manual, commercial version of BGI Library and sources
to it, your own serial number, access to phone tech support, serial
number, notifications of new features, releases and bug fixes.

What, you ask, is the difference between the Shareware and Commercial
     versions? Here is the list:

	1. SVGA support. Commercial version offers SVGA support for the
following chipsets: Tseng, Paradise, Realtek, Oak and Cirrus.
Monochrome monitors are supported as well. The list is not
big, but is growing. All of the adapters are supported in
800x600 and 1024x768 modes, 256 colors, hardware permitting.

	2. Performance. The commercial version is heavily optimized, as
can be seen from demos in this distribution. Optimization
features separate routines for 2, 16 and 256 color drawing modes,
           and other enhancements.

 	3. Mouse support. Library features support for several mice.
It also implements different methods for controlling mouse and
keyboard interaction, including our own event manager.

	4. Support for Borland scalable (stroked) fonts.

	5. Printed manual.

In addition, commercial version comes in installable form via Slackware
     installpkg, to simplify the installation.
