Hello.

The point of this kit is for you to compile the LZMA-capable
mksquashfs and unsquashfs executables.

The new mksquashfs is almost the same as the plain mksquashfs,
only that it also uses LZMA compression, which the modified kernel
can handle.

LZMA compression will typically save 100-200 MB of filesystem data.

OK. This is how you do it:

(1) Open a shell
(2) cd lzma/C/Compress/Lzma/
(3) make -f sqlzma.mk
(4) cp *.a ../../../../squashfs3.4/squashfs-tools/
(5) cd ../../../CPP/7zip/Compress/LZMA_Alone/
(6) make -f sqlzma.mk
(7) cp *.a ../../../../../squashfs3.4/squashfs-tools/
(8) cd ../../../../../squashfs3.4/squashfs-tools/
(9) make

And congrats, you should have the mksquashfs and unsquashfs executables
in the squashfs-tools/ directory.

Now to explain, summarily:
We have to build the *.a files from 7-Zip that we need for mk- and un-squashfs.
These are architecture dependent, that's why I didn't just include some
"default" *.a builds.
Then we compile the tools.

Remember these are patched SquashFS 3.4 tools, there may be compatibility
problems with SquashFS 4.0. But the LZMA tradeoff if worth it I believe.
