1) If necessary install alsa sound (see http://www.alsa-project.org)
If you have a multi-channel sound card try getting the later versions as
these may have multi-channel support ready. Alternatively get the current version
ie 0.5.11 and re-program the multi-channel code there, as this may be easier than
installing the latest beta version.

2) If you want to watch encrypted DVDs get & install libcss-0.1.0.tar.gz
   (see http://www.linuxvideo.org/user/dl.html). mpeg2 files and
unencrypted DVDs work with out it.

3) Set up your framebuffer for 24/32bit (see /usr/src/linux/Documentation/fb/vesafb.txt)

4) You may require a current kernel (developed on 2.4.4) to read dvd-roms.

5) Edit the Makefile and run it

6) ./play --help

7) If you get choppy sound, it probably is because your system is not fast
enough, try using options -r or -m1 or upgrading your system (with ddr-sdram).
