 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The HADLOP simulation system is based on the Motif widget set. You can
download a statically linked version of HADLOP (via the HADLOP home page)
if Motif is not installed on your machine.

The HADLOP binaries for SUN and LINUX were tested in more detail.
Unfortunately we did not use HADLOP on DEC Alpha and SGI very often.
However, we think it works reliably.

 ---------------------- Features of version 2.2.0 -------------------------

The version 2.2.0 of HADLOP offers a new architecture element - the
'C++' primitive. This element is not mentioned in the HADLOP manual/tutorial
(version 1.0) yet. However, it is quite powerful.
The logical behavior can be determined by C/C++ code. HADLOP automatically
invokes a C/C++ compiler installed on your system. You just have to enter
a simple C-code within a window of the HADLOP GUI. All the other things are
 done by HADLOP.
We are working on an update of the HADLOP Manual in order to give more
 details.

The symbol of an architecture primitive changes its color while the cursor
is over a window belonging to this primitive.

 ---------------------- Features of version 2.3.0 -------------------------

The HADLOP version 2.3.0 has an improved user interface. Many functions can
be invoked by selecting an icon in the HADLOP main window using the mouse.

The "Save" and "Load" buttons which were located in the "Modify" windows of
any architecture primitive have moved to the local menu of an architecture
primitive. This accentuates that these operations affect the whole primitive
and not only the content of the "Modify" window.

The C++ primitive got a rudimentary help feature - useful if you forget
the exact identifier of a general function or constant.

A global clock pulse (specified in the "Clocks" dialog box) can be deleted
now. Previous HADLOP versions did not allow to remove a clock scheme.
Specified once - you had to modify the HADLOP architecture file in order
 to remove it.

A small bug has been removed. Under certain circumstances an undesirable
time delay between two clocked primitives being side by side occurred.

 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you find a bug or if you have any suggestion just send an e-mail.

                       We appreciate any feedback.

 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Here are some known problems:

  LINUX:

Some HADLOP binaries compiled on a LINUX (elf) system could not be run on
another LINUX (elf) machine with an older LINUX (elf) version installed. The
program crashed immediately ("Segmentation fault"). If you have similar
  problems try the following:
    - if possible for you: test the HADLOP binary on another LINUX machine
with an older LINUX (elf) version installed
    - send an e-mail to the address given above, we will try to provide you
with a special HADLOP version (we need additional information about
       your LINUX version, ...)
We will offer several LINUX binaries via the HADLOP home page if many
people have the same problem. So check the HADLOP home page before
       contacting us, please.
The actual LINUX versions of HADLOP were tested using the LINUX kernel
  version 2.0.18.

Again: If you have any question about HADLOP or you want to tell us
something - send an e-mail to the address given above please.
