About anigrp
============

The anigrp components provide an orthographically projected animation
engine which is ideal for games and simulations.  Many popular games
now use orthographic projection because it provides the illusion of
depth.

The animations will run within a window using windows drivers.  These
components do not require DirectX.  Even so, the animations achieve an
acceptable frame rate on most computers.  My 166MHz Pentium gets about
30 frames per second.

There are three components contained within anigrp10.dcu:
  TAniFigure is the placeholder for as single animated figure.
  TAniMap is the placeholder for the map grid.
  TAniView is the actual animation engine and viewing window.

anigrp version 1.0 includes the following features:
  Automatic display sort order
  Collision detection
  Flight
  Shadows
  Transparencies
  Automatic movement
  Figure highlighting
  Built-in timer
  External timer support
All these features are demonstrated in the demo included with this package.

This is version 1.0.  Pending the success of this version, I have several
additional features planned for the next release.  These include:
  Lighting effects
  Collision avoidance
  Perspective
  Figure designer
  Map designer

Installation
============

Unzip all files to a directory of your choice.

Add the path containing the component anigrp10.dcu to the unit search path
of Delphi: use PROJECT-OPTIONS(Directories)

Use COMPONENT-INSTALL PACKAGES and ADD the component package dclani10.dpl.
Click OK. 

Open anidemo.dpr to run the demo.


How to register
===============

The anigrp10 components contained herein are for evaluation purposes
only.  When the components are executed, a message box to this effect
will be displayed.  The only way to remove this message box is to 
register the component.

When registered, you will receive a licensed version of the component
and full documentation.  Furthermore, you will receive updates and
notification of new versions.
