1. Introduction
   ~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank you for trying Holiday Planner for the PalmPilot.
The most popular request I have had since I released version 1 of Holiday
Planner is the facility to add marked days in the Planner into the Datebook,
this is the main feature that has been added for this release.
I am not a great fan of "bloatware" and I am trying to keep the size of the
Planner down, as such I do not want to duplicate all the code for adding times
and notes to the Datebook entries. The solution I have decided on is to create
and untimed event on the day with the description of the category. You can then
add times and notes in the Datebook.
The other change has been to the database, I now only create a header record
for each category/year and then add to this for each marked day. The previous
version created a large record containing each day whether it was marked or not.
This change has resulted in a much smaller database.
I would be grateful for any bug reports, and also any features you think
should be added. Of course, requests from registered users will take
preference :-) Please send e-mail to the address given at the top of this
document.
Holiday Planner costs 10 GBP to register, and you will receive your registered
version by e-mail (and future upgrades).
You can find the correct link to the registration site on my home page:
I hope you like this software
2. Instructions
   ~~~~~~~~~~~~

NOTE- EARLIER VERSIONS MUST BE DELETED FROM YOUR PALMPILOT BEFORE YOU
      INSTALL VERSION 1.3 DUE TO DATABASE CHANGES

When you first run the program on your PalmPilot, it will build a database for
the current year and display the year as a grid.

Tapping on any grid square will set the cursor to that position (shown by a
dotted square) and display the date for that square at the top of the screen.

If you first select the Edit button, tapping on a square will mark that square as
used, first tap full day, second tap morning, third tap afternoon. Tapping the
square a fourth time will reset the square not used.

The display in the bottom right will show the amount of days remaining, the total
days available can be set from the configuration menu, or, if you set the days
available to zero it will show the number of days used.

The drop down list in the top right of the screen controls the categories of
planner, tapping on this will bring down a drop down list of categories which can
be selected or amended in the normal way.

The global category is a special category which will "show through" on to other
planners for that year.

By default weekend days cannot be selected, this can be changed by selecting the
Weekend Selectable box in the configuration menu.

By default marked days are not added to your datebook, this can be changed by
selecting the Add To Datebook box in the configuration menu.

Note: The configuration is separate for each category, so you can for example
have one category showing through to the datebook and one not.

3. Limitations
   ~~~~~~~~~~~
The program will currently only work for the current year, when your PalmPilot
changes over to another year, you will have to delete the program and reinstall.
The registered version will allow for multiple years.
4. Future Enhancements
   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

At the moment the year runs from 1st of January to 31st December, I know some companies
holiday entitlement runs between different dates, if anyone nags me about this I'll add
some form of option.

5. Credits
   ~~~~~~~
Holiday Planner would not be here without the GNU Pilot SDK & Tutorial.
