Richard,

Gene was just asking for your old multivariate code and, to everyone's
surprise, it hadn't made it into netlib yet.  I have an old copy from
SLAC, dated 3/1/73.  May I install this?  Do you have a more recent
copy, possibly written in more portable fortran?

I finally heard from Phillipe Toint, who
approved the setup (README, etc.) for netlib/opt/ve08;
I just added ve08 to /n/pyxis/netlib/opt and updated the index.
