The files were all compiled using the 'make generic' option in the unix/Makefile
The machine, operating system and the compiler are as follows:

> SGI Origin 2000, R10000 
> IRIX Release 6.5 IP27
> MIPSpro Compilers: Version 7.3.1.1m

I did not change the Makefile (or the source code) at all.
(except to plug in the crypt.c and crypt.h files for the encryption version)
