This directory contains updates for sndconfig,
and assorted related programs.

sndconfig-0.27-* is the more-or-less stable version.
sndconfig > 0.27 is a development version. It may
work better (especially on non-SB PnP cards), but
it may also break more, because it hasn't had any
real testing.

For a list of changes, try 
'site rpm -qp --changelog sndconfig-<whatever>.rpm'

sndconfig does *NOT* support:

isapnptools >= 1.15
newt >= 0.30
sox

kernel with new modular sound (see below)

These packages can be found in Red Hat Linux 5.2; updated versions
may be found in this directory.

Kernel Note
-----------
This sndconfig is designed to work with the newer modular
sound. Kernel packages are available at:

ftp.redhat.com/sound/kernel-RPMS/RPMS/i386

Source RPM is in /sound/kernel-RPMS/SRPMS

Patches for stock 2.0.3x are available in /sound/patches-current.

Alternatively, you can use the kernel packages that
shipped with Red Hat 5.2, or any kernel >= 2.1.90 or
so.
