You can, if your process has the appropriate privileges, assume the identity of another user on the system. Unlike the DCL command SET UIC, you get more than a UIC change. Privileges, rights, UIC, and username, amongst other things, are assumed by the process, providing a security environment wquivalent to the account who's persona is being assumed.
