This directory contains the fruits of all my activity related to Perl.
In short order:

    This is NOT the latest production release of Perl!  See under
    Graham Barr's directory elsewhere on CPAN.

perl5.005_59.patch.gz
perl5.005_59.tar.gz
    Latest development release of Perl.  This is only for developers and
    others who like to sit on bleeding edges (pun irrelevant).  It may
    contain bugs of sizeable girth, and may not even build properly
    (sometimes).  If you are interested in either supporting, or just
    porting Perl, this would be the release to make patches against.
    Generally, all patches get exercised in development releases, and
    the well-tested ones enter the maintenance branch.  If you are
    intrepid enough to try this, a success/failure report is much
    appreciated.  Use the perlbug utility to compose and send the report.

perl5.005_5*-bugs-*.patch
    Fixes (if any) for known serious bugs in the latest development release.
    Be sure to apply the patch(es) before reporting any problems.

perl5.00402-bindist04-bc.zip
perl5.00402-bindist04-bc.tar.gz
    A popular binary distribution of Perl for the Win32 platform (intel).
    Comes with many widely-used modules and all the tools for adding
    new ones from CPAN.  This distribution is rather aged; see
    www.activestate.com for binaries built around Perl 5.005.  I plan to
    update this distribution with Perl 5.004_05 when that maintenance
    update of Perl becomes available.  There are no current plans to make
    5.005 binaries, but I may make one if there is sufficient interest
    and/or the ActiveState offering doesn't cut it, for some reason that
    they're unwilling to fix.

libwin32-0.14.zip
libwin32-0.14.tar.gz
    A growing collection of Win32-specific modules.  Contains binaries
    that can only be used with the perl5.00402-bindist04-bc distribution
    above.  If your Perl binaries are from elsewhere, you'll need to
    either rebuild from source, or get binaries from the same source
    as your Perl binaries.

DB_File-1.54-bin-v3-x86-mswin32-bc.zip
    Intel binaries for the DB_File extension, for use with the
    perl5.00402-bindist04-bc distribution above.  Built with Berkeley
    DB version 2.3.6.

Alias-2.32.tar.gz
    A module that allows you to say "convenient" in the same breath as
    "object-oriented".  Provides easy syntax to access hash-based object
    attributes and hash elements in general.

Data-Dumper-2.101.tar.gz
    Pretty printer and persistence engine for Perl data. Perl 5.005 and
    later come with this bundled, so you typically need this only if you
    are using an earlier version of Perl.

MLDBM-2.00.tar.gz
    A convenience wrapper that allows you to store multidimensional
    structures in DBM databases.

PerlInterp-0.02.tar.gz
    A proof-of-concept that shows how one may create and run Perl
    interpreters from within Perl interpreters.  No arbitrary limits on
    how deep you can recurse either. :-)

Tie-IxHash-1.21.tar.gz
    A module that allows hashes to be order preserving.

Archive-Tar-0.071.tar.gz
    I don't maintain this anymore.  See $CPAN/authors/id/SRZ/ for more
    recent versions.


Anything that doesn't figure in the list above is either not related to
Perl, or hysterical junk that you should probably ignore.
