Unfortunately there is no boot floppy image for Red Hat 5.1 on the SPARC. There are currently outstanding SILO and disk space issues we are trying to resolve. We will try to get this done soon, but we can make no promises as to a timeframe. You can currently boot three ways (please email me if you know of others): . via the network using tftpboot.img . via a bootable CD-ROM (ie the official Red Hat CD-ROM) . or via tape The first two methods are covered in the Red Hat Installation Guide available at www.redhat.com. The last method is as simple as connecting a tape drive to a Linux/Unix machine and use 'dd' or 'cat' to write the tftpboot.img image to the beginning of a tape. Then connect that tape drive to the SPARC machine and do a 'boot tape' from the PROM. Donnie Barnes djb@redhat.com July 2, 1998 .
