This directory is dedicated to the Sinclair computers, primarily the
ZX Spectrum. It contains snapshots, emulators and miscellaneous
other files.

/pub/sinclair/utils contains a few emulators and other utilities.

/pub/sinclair/snaps contains snapshots (about 150 right now).

Uploads may be put in /pub/sinclair/incoming. Contributions should be in
the form of a single zip file containing (at least) snapshots and a plain
ascii file with the real name of the program(s), instructions if possible,
the name of the copyright holder, and so on.

Copyrighted material is accepted, but will not be made available for
downloading. If you upload any copyrighted material, you MUST enclose the
name and, if you have it, the address of the copyright holder, and I'll
write and ask for permission to distribute the software.

I will not, neither via this server nor in any other way, distribute
illegal copies of these programs, no matter how old and innocuous they are.
I am willing to archive pirated snapshots while I try to get a copyright
release, but not to distribute them. Please don't ask me to mail you
anything, as I don't like to say no - and I have to.

If you want to help get copyright releases, please write to some of the
old companies (you can find addresses from old magazines and original
games, if you still have any) and ask for permission to distribute their
programs freely, and if they say yes, send their letter to me via paper
mail. My address is Arnt Gulbrandsen, IBT, MTFS, N-7006 Trondheim,
Norway. It's not enough for you to tell me it's OK, I need written
permission from the copyright holder.

Mail regarding the /pub/sinclair hierarchy may be sent to me at the
address agulbra@nvg.unit.no.
