I can't be held responsible for any damage this program might do. By using it carelessly, you might in extreme cases blow your monitor, so use with care.. How to use: ----------- Start the programm. Now press 'r' and enter the vertical resolution of the mode you want to generate. After that you might want to press Space to switch to active mode. Please note that pressing Space again will exit active mode, so if your monitor starts making funny sounds you perhaps should hit space. When in active mode, you see how your monitor is displaying the mode you are editing. The red border indicates the display area of the mode you are creating. Now you can change the line rate using the Left and Right Arrowkeys and the vertical width using Page Up and Down. When you are satisfied with the line and frame rate you can adjust the vertical position of the display area with the Up and Down Arrowkeys and the horizontal extension with the keys 'k', 'o', 'l' and 'p'. When finished, press 'm' and enter the horizontal resolutions you want modes to be generated for, ending your imput with an empty line. This will save a modefile containing those modes called 'MDF' in the current set directory. You should then exit the program by pressing 'q' and insert the created modes in your mode definition file using a text editor. When editing a mode you can use the Alt and Shift keys to modify the amount by which the Arrow Keys, Page Up/Down, 'k' ,'o', 'l' and 'p' change their respective value. Alt is *2, Shift is *5, both keys together amount to *10. Note ---- If you are still using 3.5, please contact me, I might then be able to add support for that, too... This entry was compressed using StrongBS and Squasher. --- btw: Anyone wanting to contact me via eMail should from now on use: exoticorn@gmx.net .
