The NYT has an article about why CEOs want to return to in-person work and how they are accomplishing it. The first CEO they quote basically says they had to return to the office so he could go back to interrupting people. On Zoom, you have to hear people out. Seems like a great place to work. I used to have a bad manager that would try and do “nice” things to cover up the bad things she did. One of them was to give people baseball tickets. I don’t like any sport, so I didn’t want them.She decided that I had to take them. Otherwise, I wasn’t indebted to her. So, one Friday, she came up to me and shoved four tickets onto the desk in front of me. I didn’t touch them. I said, “no, thank you. I don’t want them.” 1/2

She said, “If you don’t want them, you have to find someone to give them away to or I’m writing you up.”I asked a nearby coworker if he wanted them, and he said no. I just left them there, and at the end of the day, she asked me if I was going to use them. I said no that I had tried to give them away, but everyone was busy. She wrote me up for having a bad attitude. A year later, she was in jail. 2/2
