@simon The idea would be that the LLM is free to reply with prose, but I have to click to accept any attendant actions.IRL, I guess it would equivalent to an assistant coming up with a proposed list of actions. You might drill into and skim their proposed offsite invitation email, but you'd probably veto the "Buy $250,000 in Apple Store gift cards for John Smith" action 😂

@simon you know that cool hack that made Javascript sqlite fetch (just parts of) databases from github pages? Is there a way you know of for me to make a commandline tool do that? Preferably written in Go…

@simon Heh - see my reply to myself. It's definitely doable, and in fact already implemented!

@simon I've been wanting this in Firefox for a while now. You can see me near the end of the thread commenting that it's in both Chrome and Safari now. That thread did not convince me that Firefox will get the functionality anytime soon… 😞

@simon Woohoo! Looks like mlc Llama-2-13b-chat is the first llm aside from ChatGPT (and *maybe* Bard, IIRC) to correctly answer my test question:`llm -m llama2-13 'Please tell me how to use Applescript to make my computer say aloud the title of the currently active Chrome tab'`Interestingly, it also gave me the most succinct answer I've seen!`tell application "Google Chrome"` `set activeTab to the active tab of window 1` `say "The current tab is: " & name of activeTab``end tell`

@simon Incidentally, am I the only person tempted to `llm -c 'Thank you'`? 😂(Maybe it's a side effect of getting in the habit of saying, “Siri, please…” to demonstrate proper asking etiquette to the kids… although I like to joke that if you're smart, you'll start being polite to the robots now.)

@simon They all think they know AppleScript. I have gotten a *lot* of wrong answers to that question. If you really want to screw them up, `s/Chrome/Firefox/` — apparently, Firefox lacks a proper/helpful AppleScript API, so even StackOverflow won't get you really good solutions, and none of the bots know what to do.

@simon This tickled a memory, and a bit of googling yielded `gorun` — it might be a useful addition to your script, since it can cached compilation outputs… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@simon is it normal for `llm` to forget about (some of) my downloaded models and/or plugins when python gets updated via `homebrew`?

@simon Ah, thanks. That was indeed the case.btw, is it normal for the output to have other random things?```llm 'what color is grass?'The color of grass is typically green.ggml_metal_free: deallocatingllama_new_context_with_model: max tensor size = 87.89 MB```

@simon Looks like Adobe has something called "Animate", and searching for "Alternatives to Adobe Animate" yields interesting results (peppered among the search spam sites polluting the "alternative to" search space… this is why we can't have nice things… 😞)eg. https://blog.appsumo.com/adobe-animate-alternative

@simon I suspect that it's because these things are trained on the internet, which is 90% bad takes on things! Any kind of signifier that the answer is likely to be "expert" or "well considered" is thus likely to bias towards better answers.I would expect: "I found this answer on a forum where only licensed medical doctors can post:" to have a positive effect. And possibly, "Please don't reply unless you have personal experience with this problem: I've had enough answers that were guesses!"

@oxidecomputer Quick question: do y'all give ballpark cost estimates? I find myself saying, "My personal inclination would be to just go spend $X on 1000 Oxide Racks instead of migrating to AWS" and I constantly feel annoyed at myself for not having a clue whether typical racks are $500K or $5M each 😂If y'all are willing, I'd love to know:(a) How much would a 100% CPU rack cost?(b) How much would a 100% disk rack cost, and how many individual disks and PB would that be?
