       @clive "For automakers, they’re incredibly profitable (so they market the hell out of them)" because they aren't subject to the same, more expensive, safety standards as cars. This is the vehicle we need to replace most "trucks". And safe alternative and public transit options.

       @stephen personally I view the medical insurance industry as a blight on the public health system. If health insurance was banned and we all had the same access to healthcare you can be sure the Dunedin Hospital would have already been completed to a very high standard. Perhaps MPs who have health cover should recuse themselves from participating in health policy.

       @lightweight we really need free desexing of dogs and cats. The pounds are full of bully cross breeds that are often euthanised because they're difficult to home and kittens just get abandoned. Often the folk with those animals aren't able to get them desexed and changing the rules isn't going to fix that issue. And letting Bengal cats into the country ffs? What pillocks allowed that to happen?
