       Granted, not a totally fair comparison since the older codebase is also far more feature-rich, but it’s worth noting that the accumulation of many complex features over time really just spaghettifies code, and the “clean” style starts with a lot more initial spaghetti IMO.

       Finished out the year at work by accelerating a previously slow system by a little under 20x, allowing that system to now be enabled by default. Not a bad way to end the year. 😀

       Okay, this meme has been floating around and I really dislike it. I'm not a big fan of gatekeeping programming based on what editor/tools someone uses. I care about what code actually does and couldn't care less about what tool was used to write it. Use whatever works for you.Some of the best programmers I've met use rando editors like Sam/Acme and Slickedit. Some of the other best programmers I've met use Visual Studio or Xcode. The editor has little to do with why they're great programmers.

       A huge congrats to Flow for winning the Oscar for Best Animated Feature! It was made by a tiny crew entirely using Blender and rendered entirely using Eevee.        Does anyone know of a keyboard with really durable keys (or just key caps) that don’t wear down quickly? For some reason my fingers are like sandpaper to every keyboard I’ve ever used and the keys get worn down and shiny really quickly.

       Teaser trailer is out for Zootopia 2! I’ve been working on this one for a while now, and I love that we made a weirdo custom teaser trailer that contains exactly zero footage from the final movie but does show off how insanely good the character animation is in this movie.Fun fact: the snake’s animation rig is a highly modified version of… the rope rig used for the ropes on Moana’s canoe, kind of like how the Space Shuttle is a descendant of the Wright Flyer. 🤣https://youtu.be/xo4rkcC7kFc?feature=shared
