The bad thing about running #Debian #Unstable is that you can't upgrade it to the new stable release (as many Debian users seem to do today — #ReleasingDebianBookworm) as it more or less already _is_ the new stable release. The good thing about Debian Unstable is: You'll get all the new shiny (and buggy 😉) software versions again after a stable release. #MakingUnstableUnstableAgain 🤪

@Labonitamascota: Ich nehme auch wesentlich lieber mein eigenes #Faltrad als irgendein Mietvelo unbekannten Zustandes. Bei meinem #Brompton kenne ich den Zustand, es hat alle Features und die Gänge, die ich will, ich muss vorher nicht den Lenker desinfizieren, es steht immer da, wo ich es brauche und es braucht keine Äpp und kein Schlaufon.CC @techniktagebuch

@totaberlustig: Erinnert mich daran, dass letzte Woche zum ersten Mal seit ich hier wohne (über anderthalb Jahrzehnte) das Putzpersonal nach dem Reinigen des Treppenhauses die Fußmatten von mir ("There is no place like 127.0.0.1.") und meinen Nachbarn (gestreift) vertauscht hat. Ich war erstmal perplex, warum ich plötzlich eine andere Fußmatte hatte..oO( Und ja, es wird Zeit für eine #IPv6-Version davon mit "::1" statt "127.0.0.1". Gibt's das schon? #FragFedi )

@ascentale @bikenut #BikeNite A5: For my two Bromptons I have most repair material stuff in a front bag which I can put on both. It's similar with the other bikes and a generic roll-top pannier. I move at least pump and lock between these two bags. And for tools, most of them are in my trousers pocket or on the belt in form of Leatherman or Swiss army knife. And if I just go for a short ride (i.e. below 1.5km) and don't need a big bag anyway, I usually even leave even the pump at home.

@leonerd: I think the point is that for being able to roam, you'll need something else than TCP (e.g. UDP), but #SSH requires TCP…That's also why #Mosh uses UDP after authenticating and bootstrapping via SSH.So I see two possibilities for that:Use SSH over a non-TCP based tunnel like #WireGuard (https://www.wireguard.com/).Or reconnect everytime the client IP changes again, e.g. with #Autossh (https://www.harding.motd.ca/autossh/) and maybe GNU Screen or Tmux. But that's usually interactive again yet.

#TIL about #lsix (https://github.com/hackerb9/lsix) and calling #xterm with the option "-ti vt340" to be able to display inline images inside an xterm—thanks to lsix having just arrived in #DebianUnstable: https://packages.debian.org/sid/lsixThese inline images (or the backend used to display them) seem to be called #sixel graphics. @moira @ascentale @bikenite #BikeNite A2: These are some public bicycle repair stands I saw while touring around Lake Constance.In Zurich several LBS have air pumps or compressor outlets outside their shops, but so far I only saw one LBS which also provided some tools locked with long steel cables in front of their shop. Oh, and there are some vending machines for tire tubes, usually in blue as they're selling Schwalbe tubes.
