@publicvoit mobile e-mail apps were the second to last nail in the coffin of good e-mail practices.the last were support-ticket systems.Many completely butcher interleaved style answers to the point where only blank space arrives, confusing the person trying to help you.In university we still learned good interleaved e-mail practices.But most everybody either insists on doing it wrong or follows bad examples :-(

Got first answer from #TeufelAudio about #MYND A lot of "reasons could be" and "maybe" and "possibly" and not one concrete answer to my questions except the one about the deadline for sending it back.My guess ist, a lot of that first answer, was generated with AI. Especially because it re-stated one of the things that I said in the first e-mail that was actually wrong and a support technician should have noticed that. Let's wait on the second answer :-)

Notifying me about ~1500€ outstanding tax from 2023.They would execute my flat tomorrow!+link, where I could easily pay the scammer.It looked really believable at first!Despite the obvious fake Address and ads that the scammer forgot to remove.Because last year I really had an outstanding tax payment for 2023!So my 1st thought was: Did they not book my payment correctly?#finanzonline #digitalaustria

I never got a scam e-Mail like that before! So how did they know!My employer filed for insolvency in 2023 and all employees got their last salaries from the #IEF. In such cases everybody has to pay extra tax on that next year.The scammer probably got the insolvency data from public records and employee names from the homepage. Guessed one of my e-Mail Addresses. Bet on people forgetting this #tax debt, waited two years and then sent targeted #scam e-Mails!That's a new level of insidious!

indeed, now verified, that all previous employees got the same targeted spam.I find this noteworthy, because this tries to exploit a- rather obscure and rare event- in a tiny country like Austriaand requires- inside knowledge about our tax system and deadlines- manual work of finding the employees and guessing their privat e-mailsGuess this is the new world of #AI assisted scamming.

PSA: tech blogs are superior to podcasts and videos.Not just because they are more useful as a reference, but also because I don't have to listen to tool-name pronunciations that hurt my ears 🫣🙉 or where I have no clue what the speaker means because my brain just refuses to recognize that pronunciation.

Apparently I spent a lot of money on #bandcamp in the last 10 years 😲 - Just checked..Yet.. it's only 2/3 of what e.g. #spotify would have cost me in the same time.And I certainly don't regret actually _owning_ the digital albums and giving some support to the artists I like. 😛 (The additional costs for own streaming server are negligible if you divide by other benefits)#music #streaming
