       @unabomber it has been some years since I paid attention to the bitcoin stuff, but the mood must have changed a lot for them to believe a 51% attack is possible. Either they are prepared to trust some miners with some hashing exploit like bitmain's asicboost, or she's just selling a pipe dream to create more funding for friends already mining in the US.

       @boilingsteam This is a pretty spot on about a lot of things. You can't just copy and paste a community, it needs to be grown organically. The bit about trying to match features of the previous app also applies to a lot of other alternative platforms too, not just social ones.

       @gaige so, powerline adapters are really neat. i'd recommend getting one from a store that has a 14 day return policy, just to try it out since it largely depends on how your home's electrical circuits are wired. It's better than running a server on wifi.

       @BrodieOnLinux I remember looking into this before. IIRC Slackware actually began as a fork of another popular district shortly after it had made an unpopular change, which is something that informed it's core philosophies of making the bare minimum of changes to it's packaged binaries, and of course "Keep It Simple, Stupid."
