       @tom When I was younger I was always kinda creeped out by our smoke detector because instead of just beeping it could "talk" because it's supposed to be able to vocalize what room the fire is going on in (which would only really work if you had a whole network of them which we didn't but whatever). That was weird, but sometimes it would just start talking out of the blue saying stuff like "detector error, please see manual" and it was honestly kinda scary hearing that in the middle of the night.
