@tomjennings that sounds really neat, but I've got ... probably a year of outstanding projects if I don't find a job by then (which I better....)

@tomjennings It would take me an age to dig out pictures, but I had a lovely pair of cats that bonded in adulthood. One of them was this fabulous, swishy long hair black cat, and the other a taciturn and sturdy brown tabby guy.

@tomjennings @smellsofbikes there are a number of variations on SD/microSD RAID. My iPods have 4 microSD card spanned storage instead of hard drives.

@tomjennings @TechTangents that was a real Cambrian explosion era of just trying things to see what sold. For me Zenith was kinda the Zenith of that, with so many 8088 platforms it tried, from the Z100 out to the (80186) ezPC, from the z170 lunchbox (which I think they got from Morrow- I forget the details) to the Minisport with its 2.5" floppy.

@tomjennings @TechTangents it was fold up, but it was a solid PC compatible, especially once Zenith got a good full size supertwist screen in it.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morrow_Pivothttps://oldcomputers.net/zenith-z-171.html

@tomjennings MP/M is high on the list of OS that I really need to fiddle with.

@tomjennings I think that the conversion on here, and the guy with the great video may be the same person, or at least it may have been in the thread from what he posted.Also- the ad showed up ... I think the same day as the video, or at most a day after

@tomjennings @billgoats @busterb I have, so many times, declared that I have no use for this neat thinger or that. Only to find myself six months later having talked myself into getting in to the ecosystem and no longer being able to find parts

@tomjennings you can get a very serviceable adapter of Amazon for $10-$20. I've never done the benchmarks, but the performance seems totally fine - not optimized, some annoying corner cases, but way too got to worry about using something else in anything but my most special builds.I've put together a huge pile of balsa wood 5.25" sd2ide / gotek floppy emulator combo mounts for all my x86 systems

@tomjennings no doubt. I'm hoping that my next computer fest exhibit will be covering a ton of technologies like this that oldsters may have missed and newbies aren't familiar with. Or maybe heard of it but haven't had a chance to ask questions.Also- While the basic, cheap ide to SD is devices are well established, the new generation of microcontroller based software defined ide is new. The ZuluIDE has been out for a little bit (I only heard about it last month) and there's a PicoIDE soon

@ai6yr it's a car suspension, and probably a decent v6 and a wide/long wheelbase. Probably not amazing in the twisties, but pretty much designed to eat up freeway miles in comfort. I'd bet they're damn solid until at least 90mph and quite possibly all the way until the governor kicks in
