I don't think federated social Media is necessarily helpful for unifying diverse social groups of varying views. At least at how it is currently developed.

yeah it seems to be useful at creating bubbles where some people can feel comfortable.i do wonder if federated tech can be improved to encompass more diplomatic features that could allow for more unifying discourse.

yeah it is very important to have a place you feel comfortable, like a home. the internet is not life, if the internet becomes your life we are doing something wrong. especially social media sites like this are extremely limited to expressing the human heart. its just text, we don't see our face expressions our eyes etc.. it's a radically limiting way to communicate human to human. my point is not to say that you should not feel at home in an instance online etc.. or feel safe. It is after all the first choice you make when choosing an instance. I do think there are is room for improvment might could make instance diplomacy better, even internally.

but hard for me to even say what i am, growing up in the west with atheist parents it's more like me trying to figure out what feels true to me. I can definitely say that meditation which is a practice both in Buddhism and Taoism really helps heal the self.
