You should be in a #union. You should be in a union if your job sucks, you should be in a union if you like your job but your payment or conditions suck, if you need to sue someone and also if you just want exchange with nice people who work in the same field. Also, we visited a brewery yesterday and I can very much confirm that being in a union also helps when you like to drink beer.

Cool, I just noticed that David Revoy, an amazing artist AND open source software advocate who's art frequently appears in my timeline, is on Mastodon. No more relying on the algo... people I follow. :) => @davidrevoy 👋

@bitinn It is a tooling problem. The tooling does not only include hardware, it also includes software. MacOS is the only system I cannot build for if I don't own it.

@bitinn Ok, let me phrase that differently: I can not only build for Linux, Android and Windows, but also have an actual system to test on at low cost. I already have a Windows or Linux machine and that same machine will run the other operating system, too. There are many low-cost Android devices available as well as free official emulators. For Mac OS and iOS on the other hand, I have to buy Apple hardware at the cost of Apple hardware that I would otherwise not own.
