@ProfWorr I can't imagine a more economically efficient way to undermine a foreign election.

Geez, I was searching the internet for 'exotic algebra' when I should have been searching for 'tropical algebra'. Maybe I should check if there's any sub-arctic algebras out there when I'm at it.

@Olivia for many reasons, but to avoid responsibility is one possible reason that springs to mind.

@raven because it's an CISC ISA with a RISC ISA bolted on top. One wouldn't think it would make sense to take something complex and add stuff to make it reducted, and it doesn't.

@karen it only has to match the first one, the rest is optional (obviously). What the algorithm actually does depends on whether it tries to find the longest match, shortest match or something else.

H.323/SIP have _a lot_ softer transients than all proprietary and pseudo-webrtc softwares combined

@feld yeah, the video conferencing systems should be nationalized and free'd. There no reason these means of communication should be in control of only a few people.

@feld tbh, literal nationalization is probably a bad idea. But it shouldn't be too difficult to make a national security argument or similar to enable various states to fund such an initiative. The funny thing is that h.323, sip, h.264, etc have already been funded by governments, it's 'just' an implementation which is lacking.

@danielhglus @amiloradovsky it's relatively easy to parallelize stuff, the difficult part is to make the parallel version faster than the sequential version.

@amiloradovsky @danielhglus yes, but when we optimize the code we need to merge everything again and process it sequentially, at least in the worst case. We could also solve a search problem to optimize which modules we should merge but then it's a question of whether it's not faster to just do everything sequentially from the beginning.
