@LordWoolamaloo @baldur When I go to soccer games for the team in my city they have police officers wearing green military-style uniforms and carrying assault rifles standing outside the stadium before every game...nothing like some guys with big guns to make you feel safe amirite??It always feels so dystopian and jarring

@futurebird @david_chisnall Graph theory is pretty fundamental to a CS education. I use concepts of graph theory all the time in my career. A lot of problems can be modeled as a graph, not to mention data structures like trees and linked lists. Even the fediverse can be modeled as graph to show how posts traverse the nodes in the networks according to follows and boosts. Knowing how to traverse graphs (breadth-first/depth-first search) is absolutely essential. I solve problems with this stuff maybe not every day, but often enough. Then there's state machines that build off of graph theory as well...I don't remember all the theorems and all that, but it's critical to know and apply it for computer science imo

The GA State MARTA station was packed when we left the rally at the capitol. A lot of people riding who were obviously not used to it. @ascentale @drgeraint @bikenite For me it's heading south on Whitefoord after crossing DeKalb Ave from Candler Park. There's a wicked steep hill and there's a stop sign at the steepest point right before you get to the top with constant car traffic so you nearly always need to stop, lose all of your momentum, and then try to start again on the hill. #bikenite

@futurebird this is also why I love coffee. There are so many different flavor profiles depending on where it was grown, the soil, how it was processed, how it was roasted, etc.Then you get to when it's brewed and all the different brew methods...

@Remittancegirl I'm tired of the "why are you surprised?" crowd. Being outraged isn't the same as being surprised. And not calling it out because its what you "expected" would happen is normalizing what he's doing and is as good as giving him support. We should never accept the things that he is doing as normal or fine. We should call them out endlessly.

@futurebird To be fair there are a lot of professional software engineers I know who have essentially this same problem. The second anything is wrong they go on slack and start asking for help immediately and go straight to helplessness.
