I've said it in a few other channels, but some friends in Russia who are livid at what is being done in their name, suggested this: break Russian websites and stream Swan Lake. Long story short, this is a 1991-Soviet dissolution meme that is a symbol for "the government has lost control." Additionally - the Russian government censorship agencies have banned news outlets from even using the word "war". If all people of good will who can help them use the word war could do that - this would be great. As in: break into news outlets, write about the war.

Back in November 2014, when the Maidan protests weren't yet called hte Maidan, I recalled Kipling's "Danegeld." With apologies to friends from India, for whom the name is about as pleasant to hear as for us - the name of Pushkin, I think I will need to cite that poem again, because it captures very succinctly and clearly the situation around Putin and nuclear arms.

People in the West think Putin is holding to the rules of war. He isn't. Staying away to appease him has never done anything but whet this appetite. There is a very real possibility that he throws a tantrum and decides to have the whole world burn with him. With nuclear war, really, the only hope is that the people working the actual machines aren't idiots. Or that someone is working on the ground in Russia to sabotage the option.

But that's not going to depend on anything the West does in terms of support to Ukraine. Putin threatened Sweden and Finland for even considering joining NATO. He put nuclear arms on alert before there was any nuclear threat from the other side. If you let him scare you into submission, all he'll do is threaten nuclear attack as he attacks first Finland and Sweden, and then the EU.Where does it stop? Where we stop him.

My house in Kyiv, though pretty far from my apartment (the house is long). This isn't even a missile strike, though. This is damage from pieces of a missile that has been successfully neutralized by anti-air.

My friend the artist, Taya, the one who in peacetime draws lovely, cute art, still has family there. She has only heard about them, not from them, since the siege began. Can you imagine getting a phone call from a familiar number that last a few seconds before it's disconnected, and you don't even know if it was really them? In that situation?I can't either.

@stux @caranmegil If you have any drone hobbyists who are in the field, they probably know this, but just in case: they need to be super careful with DJIs. DJIs are easily detected by Aeroscopes in Russia.
