@urusan Something I've seen at my org is using git subtree to populate read-only repos for the portions of the monolith which may be reused elsewhere. This reduces some of the dependency-update headaches for those working on the monolith (esp in the early development phase). I think the choice of VCS matters too. IIRC with Subversion you can checkout a subtree of a repo to work on pretty easily and not have to think about how it fits into the rest of the monolith.

@feditips frustrating! I would def press for details. stripe may be using some algorithm to detect fraudulent users and support might be able to shed light on this or unflag your acct if you are persistent. I ran into issues with venmo a while back were it wouldn’t let me pay our kids’s babysitter more than once.

@stux The language of the 2nd amendment refers specifically to enabling militia to secure a free State. I believe the nature of “Militia” has changed significantly in the last 100+ years esp with the advent of local police (mid-19th century) and the National Guard (mid-20th century). My great grandfather was enlisted in a local Militia (in a Northern state) when he was about 18 years old, along with many other local men. His militia was activated to serve in the Spanish-American war, and The Great War. Eventually this militia would become the local affiliate of our State’s National Guard. In Southern states at the time the 2nd amendment was introduced, I believe Militia were chiefly used for Slave Patrols.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slave_patrol

This morning my #PinePhone believes it to be 31 July 2117. So what’s on my agenda? My calendar is completely open, so guess I’ll go outside and play!

Tried to manually set the date and the GUI uses spinners which are super fucking annoying: they still move after my finger lifts off the screen, trying to spin them also makes the ui think I’m trying to move the widget (or swipe it closed), and when I finally get the right date, it doesn’t reflect it when I close the widget. Yikes #PlasmaMobile

Updating the shipped #PinePhone OS from the #PlasmaMobile Discover app doesn’t work at all (it claims to, and forces restart but doesn’t actually do the updates) so trying from the command-line. I cleared cache (sudo pacman -cc) and forced full refresh of package db (sudo pacman -Syyu). When it restarted- definitely changed… now the lockscreen won’t bring up on-screen keyboard, so no way to enter my passcode. Oh yeah it’s def got desktop UI, I have pointer arrow which I can move with my finger. FFS :blobcatnotlikethis:

@linmob maybe the fix for the date bug was one of the 616 updates that was pending but wouldn’t actually install? 🤷‍♂️ Now I’m waiting for a microSD card so I can try another OS.

@deadsuperhero Do people do this because they somehow know about CWing, but not about filtering? If there is a set of words that trigger you, Mastodon can effectively CW it for you.

@futurebird This is attention capture, and I believe it is/was an intentional way for some people to capitalize on YouTube. I don't look at YT much anymore, but I remember some channels I was subbed to would release a 90m video and after a couple of weeks they'd stuff ad breaks every few min.
