@aral that’s what I keep saying. We need less regurgitated garbage and more action variety. it’s difficult and often frustrating and more hassle… but we can’t keep going to use all the same sources and resell it as a solution. this also applies for browsers - there is too little choice

@thj I was born in germany, lived there until 15 years ago - spent a bit over 10 years in Ireland and my 4th year now sweden. I was never really happy in germany after my “school years”. I’d say with all the problems germany has right now, most likely there are more satisfactory choices? some things make me sad and ashamed “for” germany to be honest. And it’s also very densely populated. I’m having problems with “crowds” and many people.

@feld Dunno. Life can happen. Happened to me multiple times and I had to eat spagetti with ketchup for 3 weeks. IMO is he doing this all by himself. I do not use the app, but I dont have the feeling he would ask if things didnt go sideways.

@stux @ahrienby exactly. they could have "fixed" piracy. but they (mega-corporations) managed to make piracy more attractive than ever. Some things (like german audiobooks) have become impossible to buy. In addition to all this, I hate the fact that streaming services managed to make music a throw-away-and-forget product for a large portion of the population. Who's still super excited when an album is released and listen to it for 3 weeks straight? Very few.

@stux I look at my printer in it’s isolated network, with a hammer at the ready, to smash it to bits if it does anything abnormal. As an IT guy working in the security sector - I don’t trust technology one bit.
