Пришёл ноутбук из ремонта (Thinkpad P1 Gen 4, Intel Graphics). Если кому нужен в тбилиси, то могу продать.Продам за 3000 GEL.Поменяли материнку в официальном сервисе, полностью рабочий без нареканий. Russian government has accepted the law, that restricts contributions to foreign non-profit organizations, like any of them including open and free software one. So you potentially can go to jail because you contribute to lets say GNU Emacs (foreign non-profit free software foundation), Linux (Linux foundation), GNU Guix (Guix Europe) and so on.It is sad to see how things go, because they limit only citizens, but they limit themselves, because they eventually will be left without software.

There are lots of repression-like laws in a country, but tendency is quite clear. There is a chance that law in practice will not affect anything, but the fact that law exists already makes me sad.

@drq if you will ever refactor this, I recommend to give Symfony a try. PHP sucks too much without it, Symfony even fixes shortcomings of the language itself.If refactoring tasks are not possible, I would avoid such a job. Most even "good" codebases are not so good in practice and have repeats, fat controllers, logic in templates, not optimized sql queries and so on.

@redstarfish php is enterprise semi proprietary thing same as java. Zend and other companies influence development too much. Sadly tho many good projects use that language to create libre software.

Going to install GNU Guix on my second ssd today. Debian is good, but I'm using it like I will throw away everything I have at any moment, because it is hard to save all of my changes to the system and home.I hope my work project will work fine there.

How to keep your open source projects less bugged? You need to fix bugs, right? The answer is No. You just use a bot that closes all issues that got inactive, so you have now maybe 100 open issues and 10000 closed like in Symfony. @DrewNaylor I'm somewhat in between, because I like what GPL tries to achive, but I don't like copyright in general, so why not try to exit it using CC-0 license or something like that. So I would like to release everything as Public Domain tbh even tho companies can use my code for making profits (but my code is useless anyway).The sad part is that gpl is not really saving your code from using by companies, so it is sad to conclude that defending user freedoms by copyright works not so well.

Thinking about buying Intel arc 770 GPU card. Proprietary, but at least drivers are in Linux kernel. Sadly all GPUs except Intel graphics suck on Linux if you consider software freedom. I haven't investigated yet freedom issue much, but I hope Intel Arc would be more free option than other GPUs.

@publiclewdness that's probably because you need Linux-firmware installed that comes with Linux kernel. I've seen bad reviews in game performance, but I don't care much about it, what I want is drivers. I have rx480 now and it doesn't run gnu guix afaik because of Linux-firmware.Thanks for your reply, maybe I will reconsider buying it. Need to double check user experience.
